What is it with these Men?

So many on the dating app I'm on start off with "Hello pretty." You don't address a mature women like she's a 17-year old girl. I actually think these types are scam artists. In fact, they must be because it's hard to believe genuine men over 50 would address a woman my age this way.

I delete every message like that or, "hello gorgeous, beautiful, honey," or any other adjective that is totally based on physicality. It automatically turns me off, and these men never get a response. Then men complain women don't respond to them, well maybe if they treated mature women like they are people and not some dumb teenage girl, they may get a response more often.

The female scammers are a bit more subtle (or is it men posing as women online). One thing that gets my suspicions is the classic "too good to be real". But I go along. Still I check the photo via Google. Finding the same photo online, and especially tied to a model or otherwise "public" person is an immediate red flag. And then she's allegedly in a jam (tops was a so called UNICEF worker in Africa who's sick all of a sudden and needs money for food and medicine - seen that twice). The newest one has been Craiglist, where the person wants to "verify my identity" by going to a site like Craigdate (or whatever it's called now) that allegedly is free (so why is it asking for a credit card number?) that turns out to be a front for a pornography website (I didn't get suckered into that one, I found that info on a scam-buster website).

At which point my response is "Game over. Thank you for playing".
