Everything that involves pain is easier said than done, but people keep saying it because pain makes everyone uncomfortable and they'd rather push it away.
Having said that, there is usually a reward to difficult actions, either we get what we want, or we realize it wasn't worth the trouble, either ones would not have been attained without that difficult action.
