Some people know just how to
pique your curiosity and get you to let your guard down. Don't fall for it.

The three main techniques jerks use to get you back after they've mistreated you or dumped you:

Sending you an intriguing message that makes you curious enough to respond. (Example: "I just met someone who tells me he knows you very well." Or: "Your friend is talking about you.")

Sending you a message with words like EMERGENCY in the title.

Sending you a message that starts, "I'm leaving town for good..." This message says he has found a new job in _______ [a town at least 500 miles from where you are]. He "doesn't want to leave things this way" and begs you to meet with him "so I can apologize in person." If he can get you to meet with him and charm you into being friendly--which is easy if you believe you will likely never see him again--he can accomplish a lot. He will phone you again in a week or two telling you the job fell through and he's back. Now you are on decent terms with him again and he can ask you out.

depends... do you want to get back together with him? are you seeing someone else? is it out of the blue or have you talked to him since you broke up?

I have used that line on ex's, and aquaintances a few times....

It depends….I’m on good terms with the only ex I’m in contact with, she’s a friend. If she said that I’d ask about what the dream was about.
On the other hand, if another ex texted me out of the blue, I’d ignore it.

It's probably all made up and just an excuse to get you curious enough to text back.

I'd only hear that from 3/6 of them and ironically I wouldn't be interested in their opinions.
