Yes, I was. But "dating" probably didn't mean then what it does now. The boy would come by, we'd go to a movie, or out to have a meal or spend time at the mall, or he'd escort me to a school dance or a party, and then later he'd bring me home, maybe have snacks that Mom prepared in the family room and we'd watch some tv. Then he'd kiss me goodbye and go home. You weren't considered "weird" if sex wasn't among the scheduled activities, you were just a "good Catholic girl".

I went on my first date when I was 15. We had burgers at our school's football stadium and watched the sun set from the top of the bleachers.

Nope. Even though other people at 12, 13, 14, & a few 15 yr. olds were dating in middle school. As well as having sex. I wasn't though, but I was usually older then most of my classmates and friends.
