Do you ever get over your first love after being left heartbroken?

I think we get over our first but never forget them...and sometimes spend years comparing everyone to him or her.

Sure it's heartbreak? The real one. If so, no. It's a scar that won't ever fade. Indelible. Constant reminder.

Never got over my first love. It didn't end in heartbreak really. It was ended for us.

my first love I guess it was more about the the image ,,I hurt for a while but mainly over my kids more then my wife ,she hid them from me 12 yrs
now my second wife it was 10 yrs and it took my last real love to get me over her ,I knew I was totally to blame for the break up and she was an angel I wanted back so bad I would have done anything ,
but the last woman I really loved was not my first ,but the first time I never tired of someone ,not for a second
7 1/2 yrs and I could hardly stand being away from her a day
loosing her almost killed me ,,literally
its been 5 1/2 yrs ,,and still not a day I do not miss her ,and still grieve the loss

I was heartbroken when i learned she had died. Years later, I am still not over her smile.

Yes! But it may take time, to heal up the wounds left, and of course to accept the dreams you made with that partner will no longer include the person you thought of. But you will move on and your heart grows stronger.
