The best way for me to get over an ex was to cut them off completely.
Delete their number, delete them off social media. No contact.
Keep yourself busy with other things that mattered to you before you met your ex, if you don't know what that is, this is the best time to find out.

I was married for just over 10yrs... high school sweetheart... came home early one night from work... I was always being asked to pick up as much overtime as I could get from my wife... I figured having two kids that anything I could do to help our family was not too much... Well that one night I came home early.. I must have surprised her... for when I opened the home computer... boom... i was in the middle of a her email and a letter she was writing to her lover...... i was crushed completely... I went to the bedroom where she was pretending to sleep and confronted her... she blamed it on drugs which i knew was false... i had worked my ass off for her and my two kids... for this betrayal???

I left that night... went to a bar across town to get drunk and consider my options... an old mature woman befriended me... I told her my story as we drank... she loved to sing kareoke and she was really good... after a little while she had me singing with her and at the end of the night we actually won the $200 kareoke prize that night... she took me to her place and we had one amazing evening...

I stayed until sunrise and went home... i tried to forgive my wife but my heart was still broken... I stayed until the month before our 20th anniversary and left... only because I would not have another man raise my kids...

I am now remarried... happily... and my ex has found a rich guy that loves to do everything she hates... lol

Karma.

Never let anyone treat you badly... Walk away with your head high... Do not answer his 3am booty calls... and find someone that wants to be your number one!

For some they say getting with someone else but I can assure that does not work for everyone and it even doesn't work for them it may 'help' but I have never met anyone who got done with new sex with a stranger after a painful break up who said ' oh all the bad feelings are gone now, totally over it'
I would say to spend time with your friends or family, do things you enjoy that bring you happiness, set up some new goals for this future without that person and it will all still suck but at the end of the sucky time you will be happier than you were with that person who never deserved you in the first place. x
