Just to be clear, a co-worker of the opposite sex (or whatever gender they have sex with), no. I'd expect 2 adults to come up with a better solution than that, if that was their 'only' solution I find it suspicious.
That's no excuse at all, they had money to go to a concert and get drunk and didn't make any plans for how to get home, it's all too convenient and unpleasant.
