School is top priority when it comes to my parents. I can have a committed relationship, and still do good (I'm indirectly proving it, too. I'm almost a straight-A student).

@BlackBloodDemon: I think honesty is the post approach in the long run here, approach them in a mature way and tell them how you feel and ask for their support and advice.
I mean in the end of the day they want what is best for you, you just gotta let them know that you're getting older and this is another aspect of the man you are going to one day grow into that you need to explore.

@xCoinx: my mom will be upset at first, but then she'll like claim my partner as her own child... The problem is my dad. He's still upset about my sister being in a relationship after 2 [i]YEARS[/i] since they've been together.

@BlackBloodDemon: I know its gonna sound like a total double standard and not make any sense but fathers feel differently about their daughters dating than they do about their song.
Its got something to do with sex and the feeling that daughters have been violated or contaminated somehow after they've been with a guy. But the feelings not the same with a son, her dad might be another story though.

@xCoinx: Surprisingly, when it comes to my dad, he doesn't care if I'm a girl or boy. If he knows I'm in a relationship, I need to prepare myself for an absolute nightmare.
