my bf is so damn arrogant. i hate it. i think others sense it too.

he likes to "educate" (my word for it) people during casual conversation. he could never just talk about current events or the weather. There has to be some long winded lesson no one asked for and if that's not bad enough. try to defend any argument you may have. he will cite 10 "documentaries" hes already watched on whatever the topic is. ffs.

That's challenging. Is he like that at home as well?

@Peaceful: ya we just had a small disagreement right now about what we are feeding our cat, and he's telling me the history of cats, cat food, how it was invented and what it's made of and that vets all get their information from the same source so doesn't really matter what they say cause he already researched the shot out of it

@HumblleJumblle: I'm not sure how long you've been together, but I personally couldn't live with someone, let alone date someone like that. What drew you to him in the beginning?

@Peaceful: not every conversation is like that. he has lots of redeeming qualities - ive tried to tell him delicately before that people just want to talk to him sometimes not be educated by him. he doesn't get it. and i can see boredom run over people's faces.

@HumblleJumblle: he sounds insecure. If it's a deep seated insecurity, which it sounds like, he may not want to change. It makes him feel knowledgable. Good luck to you.
