Heard on the news today that two mormons are going on trial for polygamy and it got me thinking,
what actually is the problem with polygamy? Why should it be illegal?

Doesn't it get you thinking about the double standard way in which society lets muslims practice polygamy in the most misogynistic way, picking up multiple child benefits with each wife on the way, but if anyone ever does anything similar, it's a massive evil?

@Celine: when you mention a religion in the very title of the thread, rather than just a little detail in the description, I and clearly other people (Scientology and Christianity have been mentioned) will discuss religion. And even if you didn't mention it in the title, which you did, religion has for the last 100,000 years played a massive role in this, and for many billions of people, still does. Now, are you too ignorant or scared to discuss what you broached?

You're literally on a public forum where people express their opinions and complaining when people express their opinions and then compare them to a baby because they won't do as you say. Grow up.

@Celine: you stamp your feet because someone expresses a different opinion. And others have held the opinion that this involves religion so it's you stamping your feet at the adults. I don't have a problem with you having an opinion, but not having a problem with it doesn't require me to stop talking about what I want to discuss. I never said you can't discuss what you want, it's just you telling me what I can't discuss.
