How should one partner deal with the step kids?

I didn't mean to say step kids..I'm just the girlfriend but yeah any ideas on how should I..treat and behave when with them?

Never talk bad about their mom and be good and kind no matter what they do or say. My step mother was the best!!!! Loved her!
