I want to make friends in my area, but my wife is too shy

So our weekends we always keep to ourself. She doesn't even like when family comes over. I have looked for meetups with other parents, but I can't get her out of her shell. What's funny, is she is much better at conversation then I am, but she doesn't seem to miss socializing, because she can just talk to her mom every night.
