A truly strong woman (not one that pushes others around as that is not strong) wouldn't be interested in a weak man.

In theory I'd agree with you. However, often times you don't fully recognize the character traits of a weak-willed man until emotions/feelings are invested. The attraction is there initially them the discovery begins.
