How do you know you're in love?

I've been dating my boyfriend for over 4 months now. We go to the same University, but whenever we have breaks (winter and spring break) we have a long distance relationship, since we live 3 hours apart. When we're together we usually do everything together, and spend every day together.he's my best friend at college, but sometimes he can get on my nerves. I feel bad saying that he can annoy me at times, bc at the end of the day I love him so much. When we're apart, I miss him so much and can't wait to see him again. Did I say I love him too early?

There's no good answer to this question.

Love is a word that is so big it may as well not have meaning. You need to think about what love means to you without your boyfriend in the picture, and then see if that applies.

If you define love as what you're feeling right now, that's fine. I call that infatuation and personally believe love takes time to build. Like, years. You need to have had some fights and got over them, grown up a little bit together, and learned about the bad things in each other and how to deal with those. At four months, you're mostly dealing with the good.

But it doesn't mean what you're feeling isn't like... amazing and intense and valid. It can still be love if that's how you define it.

Just recognize, rationally, even if it sucks, that this early love does not last and cannot last. It will change into something else, and that's absolutely fine.

I believe that love can last this early and will last if both people feel the same way...we've had some fights and have been out of the "honey moon" stage for awhile now haha

You need other friends besides him at college. If you break up you'll be completely alone.

I have a lot of great friends at college haha. It's just that the day I moved in I became the closest to him because he had so much in common
