Okay, I need a second opinion

So for Valentine's Day, I spent the weekend before with my partner and it was fun filled. We planned it together and He didn't hint he was getting anything else the whole time we were planning. On the last day of the weekend, I gave him a card and a boxes of chocolates as something special from me to him. He told me he had a card for me and some leftover chocolate strawberries that he left at home. Prior to the weekend, when I'd ask him what he had got me, he said you'll see. When it finally became Valentine's day, I anticipated what he had planned, got me, or sent me. I got home very late and got a text only. When I brought my disappointment up to him, he said I was ungrateful and materialistic.

What do you think?

I don't know enough about your situation. But wanting something fancier isn't necessarily materialistic assuming he could afford it.

If I ever get married, I don't require a large wedding ring, especially if the other person is poor. But if they're well off and they get me something really simple and it looks like they just picked up the first thing they saw at Walmart, I'd kinda be like 'ok do you not care that much about me?'
