@GermanAf: Perfect!
Well if my siblings do not recognize greatness when they see it (Me) then we are gonna have problems.
You said it -- the family is not a democracy, parents are benevolent, but absolute rulers https://similarworlds.com/story?fid=2327115&tid=585015&name=I-Am-A-Strict-Mom

I wholeheartedly disagree with you. If my siblings and I didn't pick on eachother, we wouldn't have been prepared for bullies at school. If I wasn't fist fighting with my older brothers, I probably would've gotten beat up in school for being the weird girl.
This is gonna sound cliché, but it builds character.
Home is where one should be safe. As you said, you can get your butt kicked in the outside world.
Well, the only character building violence Mom & Dad thought appropriate at home was Mom's hairbrush --and I as a Mom have gradually come to see their point

meh, my sister and I insult each other all the time. We're best friends, that's just how we show our love. We're still respectful to everyone else though.

My parents joined in while my sibling picked on me. They liked it that way as they did all they could to divide us.

Oh please, it's just banter 😂

Banter is fine. Insults are meant to hurt and undermine.

Oh sorry, I only meant insults in good humour, not the vile ones.

Absolutely right. And they should definitely not allow violence. I'm amazed at people who were beaten up and bullied by siblings. My folks would never have allowed that.
