Have you ever had a good partner, yet they are somewhat emotionally detached?

I'm finding it a bit confusing

oh yea I know some guys like that - some guys think its not 'manly' to show emotion or show concern which is just stupid. My ex only showed emotion when it suited him, to get what he wanted etc

It's seems to be mostly after he's had a bad day at work. I feel like he couldn't give a damn about me those days, but normally he's ok
