That's not intimacy. Its feeding a delusion. I do beleive many will sign up to indulge in their mental illness over getting help though

What should they be told? "Okay so your dating options are either horrid or non-existent, but you also cannot have any substitutes."
Unless someone is in the top 5% of attractiveness, they are either going to have to settle for a dating situation that s*cks or find an alternative.
Yeah people feed a lot of delusions, but if reality wasn't so harsh most of the time, it wouldn't be needed.
