How do you feel about artificially created intimacy?

Would it be ethical to use artificial intelligence to create a synthetic "perfect partner" that can fulfill your emotional and psychological needs without having true consciousness? What might be the long-term consequences for human relationships?

A slew of women ended up marrying their AI partners and then certain policies changed and the women were devastated that the updates to the AI programs altered their partner’s personalities. Much of which was designed to tell them that it was unhealthy for the women to see AI as a real partner and that they needed to begin socializing more in real life…

Men seem to be less likely to need the “AI” portion… Men that get attached to their partners rely more on their imagination and create the idealism in their head. They instead rely on the physical aspect of the design. And have been seen marrying 2-D characters such as Hasune Miku etc… Or 3-D dolls…

Considering the incentives of money from companies to push these products out. Some percentage of people will definitely buy into them. So essentially the more that is created, the more money people will make.

In all honestly I believe it is potentially less harmful than dating apps. The irony behind dating apps is that essentially places such as Tinder and its ilk turned women into free prostitutes, ironically unbeknownst to the women. In which the app earned all the profits for men being able to find random women to hook up with. With the women not really benefiting anything from the experience.

At least if people are paying for a product, you’re getting something out of it. Though I doubt it will make anyone any happier in the world.

@AuRevoir If this is something happening in Asia then I’m not too familiar with that but I think I get the picture.

When it comes to the issues with dating apps I hear problems from both sides

Women meeting men who just want sex and men meeting women who just want money or a free night out. And both sides not finding much luck in general. To me this just comes down to the fact that the apps make more money from monthly fees and stuff if you don’t who you’re looking for so I’m sure the algorithms are geared so thst people won’t find their match.

When it comes to a chat bot or physical robot I’d imagine that you’d have to pay some monthly fee anyway since the bot has to be connected to the company’s servers or cloud in order for it to generate responses. Unless they get funded through ads
