How do you feel about artificially created intimacy?

Would it be ethical to use artificial intelligence to create a synthetic "perfect partner" that can fulfill your emotional and psychological needs without having true consciousness? What might be the long-term consequences for human relationships?

Granted it's not for everyone but for some people it's the ideal solution. I'm thinking those who are emotionally damaged but still want intimacy.

@AthrillatheHunt I imagine that would depend on the definition of "robot". With the scientific advancements we're seeing it may not be very long before society will have to reexamine what is and is not a robot. For example, is the subject in question (in this case what we now consider to be a robot) a trusted member of the family? Has the subject provided a sense of security and comfort to the family or certain family members?
