Work in pediatrics. I hated sick kids when I did clinicals. Takes a better person than me to care for sick kids.

Oh yeah that too. I couldn't do the oncology floor either. I would cry multiple times a day.

@DeepQuestions: Well, I've done that, and ER and OR I can handle pretty much anything except sick kids. Don't know why, just can't. After I graduated nursing school and went to work, I had at least one patient die on me every day I worked for weeks. I learned how to handle that very quickly.

@Shattered: I couldn't handle sick ppl. I almost went into the health care career, but I couldn't handle the thought of working with sick ppl.

@crabbyhermit: I guess its not for everyone. Nursing was not my first choice but I found it very rewarding. Many people do not have anyone when they die and it's nice to be there for them and hold their hand when they pass. No one should have to die alone unless that's the way they want it.
