Why r people overusing "ghosting"

it cannot be applied to literally any situation, it is only when we are in a relationship or it is assumed so, and a person dissapears

another thing it doesnt have to mean i dont like you, its just i cant pursue everything right

@Zeuro its a question? If it could be applied to any situation. Then when my sister went to work without saying farewell to me; she ghosted me. If shed not wanted to respond when i said have a good day at work while she walked toward the door, is it that she ghosted me, didnt have time to respond, or simply didnt want to; she has a cell phone she could have responded, she didnt!. she never came home; that night. Or maybe she had a date never told snyone and forgot her phone?
My grandfather died and still haunts the basement. Did he ghost us? I cannot see him but i heard the echo of his voice sometimes and footsteps near where he spent his time reading.
Have i been ghosted? He never responds.

@exchrist literally none of that is ghosting. Ghosting is when someone you were in communication with and had the reasonable expectation of continuing to be in communication with suddenly digitally vanishes, usually blocking you on everything or at the very least ceasing responding to you, without a single word about it, with the intention to never to be seen or heard from again. It’s abandonment without a single warning or explanation, and often leaves you wondering what the hell went wrong, occasionally wondering if they’re even still alive.
