Starting over

I'm single again, a widow. Married twice, divorced once. I just went through breast cancer. I had surgery and a round of chemo, and things are looking good so far. I wonder if it is worth starting over again in my late 40s. I have scars; they say some will never completely go away. I used to be proud of my body. Now I look in the mirror and wonder if anyone would want me.

You have been through a lot and that in itself will make you attractive to some good people. The strength you have shown and the wisdom that comes with difficult experience. As for the scars or anything else about your body, don't worry. Only a superficial person that you wouldn't want anyway would be deterred from desiring you.
