Men who escaped the friendzone, how did you do it?

There's no such thing. You're either sexually and romantically attracted to someone, or you're not. I'm friends with both.

It's typically called the friendzone when you're not romantically or sexually interested in someone just so you know.

I'm sure there are couples that started off as friends initially, but this friendzone term is quite silly

@MrMagic: Lol, I think it's funny in a way. ^^

@Conscience: I know. I just think it's a silly term. One that in my opinion makes a mockery of friendship and relationships. My point was that I have had friends who I was both sexually/romantically attracted to, and ones I wasn't interested in in that way. Both types being friends and both I genuinely value.

@Luminescence: The term comes up in situations where feelings aren't returned. It might be special to you, but it's not exactly fun for other people when they're interested in more with someone who doesn't feel the same. I guess it's easier to mock a relationship that is one sided in that way.

@Conscience: Yeah. Maybe I'm being harsh. I guess humour is a handy coping mechanism and unrequited love would be more than difficult. Thanks for giving the rationale behind it. 🙂

@Luminescence: No problem! I'm glad I was able to help. That's how I see it anyways. 😝 The term can easily be a bit dramatic and silly though, I can agree with that!
