What are your thoughts on an Arranged marriage .

An Arranged marriage is a type of marital union where the bride and groom are selected by their families from childhood / They are at last allowed to meet each other at age 21 .

It's accepted in certain cultures,but not the way you described it.🤔 Marriages for green cards etc. Also considered as arranged marriages

This may be before your time but I remember cases of Vietnam War Brides who would wed to a G I just to get out of Vietnam .

@Paschar: marriage is still the fastest way to get the papers..however,people abused it so much ,the regulations are crazy these days.
