Do sleeping pills cause liver damage?

I heard that repeated use of sleeping pills can damage your liver. I thought that would only happen to someone who failed suicide with sleeping pills. I don't think its true because a lot of people take sleeping pills and not everyone is walking around with liver damage.

Possibly. They most likely cause damage, even if it's not in the liver. Some have a really long list of side effects. I would recommend melatonin. Much healthier.

I usually take melatonin and it helps me sleep but doesnt help me stay asleep.

@purecrazy93: Mmm, yeah. I have that issue, at times, too. You wake up like 2-4 hours later, sometimes. Perhaps taking more would help. I usually stick around 1g, maybe 3-5g is better. :|

@ColdPenguin: I take 5 mg. I saw they sell time released melatonin but I never tried it lol

@purecrazy93: Try atarax. Yep, you need a prescription but it is a very cheap med...and you will sleep well. Melatonin does not keep me asleep either.

@DixieChick: The price isn't the issue its the liver damage. I value my health more then my money lol

@purecrazy93: Well...I never made money a issue! NO kidding...you just don't read me well do you? I think you do not follow well.

@DixieChick: You said "Yep, you need a prescription but it is a very cheap med...and you will sleep well." I'm sorry if i offended you.

@purecrazy93: Just because I said it was cheap does not freaking mean that is is important or more valuble than your health. I was offering you a cheap alternative to Melatonin...but you are making a big deal out of it. I just told you it was cheap FYI. I am sorry that I answered you at all. Do as you wish. :)
