You can cover it with makeup but it's still there. She knows it, he knows it and likely everyone else knows it.

@Mrpauldavies: There isn't enough prison and jail cells in Morocco as it is much less for those who abuse women that way.

Obviously, the authorities don't care and that's a shame. I don't think covering it with makeup would make me feel any better. I think I'd want to hide in a closet, or maybe just die.

@Katielass: they probably do feel that way, but the society is very social and anything negative with family members is viewed as shameful, something that the women shouldn't have to bear of course, but that's a product of a shame-based society.

@Katielass: Oh the USA has plenty of domestic violence cases but the thing is there are Women's Shelters and charities that will help in those cases if they will open up about it not to mention counseling services, little or nothing is available there.
