No depends what kind of marriage you prefer. If its a love marriage then it does work out well if they are your best friend. But some marriages work very well when the spouses are more of partners than friends each supporting some aspect of life that the other needs.
I always wanted a best friend soulmate but after my marriage that I am in now I don't care.

@REMsleep I want one where we're more of partners than friends.

@JimFarris16 And thats ok but long before you consider getting married make sure that your relationship works that same way and make sure that your future spouse understands the role that you want and the role that is required of him/ her.
Why do you not want a best friend spouse, just wondering?

@REMsleep I feel if the relationship ends, it'll ruin our friendship.

@JimFarris16 Most people who get married and then divorced aren't truly friends afterwards anyway. All things worthwhile will incur some risk if you are worried about loosing a friend.
If you take on a spouse that sees you as a partner they may be more likely to not be there for you in the worst of times since maybe you can't hold up all aspects of your end of the bargin.

@REMsleep I see what you mean but, both of us would prefer being more of partners than best friends.
