It's not a whatever, and who says sex can't be mutually giving? You assume it's giving away something like a bargain, where sex should be everything about consenting sex for the benefit of both, or all taking part. It's altmodisch to think of it like some goods that the other has to pay a lot for to receive, that makes it more like prostitution.
