You can try to make it work too, as an option. A good relationship takes works and sometimes considerable time and effort. The easy way out is to walk away, but you may regret that decision later.

I regret it now but he wasnt ready since he just got out of a relationship. He wanted to be friends but I wanted more. So I didnt force it and walked away. Sometimes I think maybe I should be friends with him so when hes ready we can start trying to have a relationship but idk

You are doing yourself a favor by walking away.
You wont see the breakdown in what you have right now. It never stays that good. Reality and day to day life creep in.
