Boy, was I surprised by this!

A few days ago I got a "friend request' on Facebook. I did not recognize the name, nor did we have any friends in common. But I noticed she graduated from my high school, and then I stared at her first name, which is rather unusual, and I realized this was an old high school girlfriend of mine! (Her last name is different because she is married.)

I accepted her request, and we started chatting. It has been 50 years since we were last in contact with each other.

@Mamapolo2016 Seeing you quote a song brings back a memory. This girlfriend actually called a local Top 40 station and dedicated a song to me. No one else has ever done that.

That's neat.

My brother had a similar experience - he was engaged at 19 but she ran away to the city and they broke up.

30+ years later she contacted him on FB (he didn't get the notification for FOUR YEARS) and they were engaged again.

Then he got very sick and she got very gone.

That's so neat! I do think about my one high school girlfriend. That first date anniversary is this coming week- 51 years ago.
