Does it make you cringe when someone is overly affectionate to you?

I have realised I don't know how to deal with it

It's nice to feel cared about to some degree but I don't like it when people are overly attached to me. Especially over the internet. Saying something like, "I'd die without you" is a sure way to slowly lose contact- I don't need that pressure.
