How is fake proposing to your girlfriend supposed to be a prank?

I’ve seriously seen two videos of this in the past day or so and if that were me it seriously break my heart. Men my age have commitment issues to begin with and now it’s going to be acceptable to joke about it?
I’d leave a guy if he thought a stunt like that was funny. It’s just cruel.

Yeah. That's about as funny as a "fake pregnancy" prank. 😒

@SW-User Like seriously?? If my boyfriend pulled that we’d have to FaceTime his family or something so then he’d have to explain his cruel joke to them too.

@antisocialbutterfly yeah, I don't get that at all.

Good way to get that stellar reputation going

I agree, it's cruel. It's not a prank.
Then there is this:

If you're gonna propose in public, you'd better be sure.

The golden rule of pranks is "confuse, don't abuse." This is just abuse.

Now, a good proposal prank would be proposing for real, but instead of a ring, they pull out a picture of Jeff Goldblum or something, and behind that is a ring. That's a prank! An admittedly dumb one, but not one of these fake proposal tragedies.
This is not completely bad. Self-identifying themselves on world-wide media as asses will help simplify dating choices. A form of self-shunning.
Good for you! Its not funny in the least to anyone with brain cells.

And when people pretend that they've cheated . It's pathetic.
