is it possible for bestfriend to kill feelings towards me without being apart?

my best friend (17) which I like.. said she likes me but is scared of love and commitment and she also said "I can kill my feelings I don't mind.. thats why I told u earlier that I'm not supposed to tell u and just leave it for myself" tho she was angry when she Said it so I didn't take it seriously coz she always say I always talk to you in my heart without us texting or anything and also she talks about me with her friends..

is it possible/easy for her to kill the love she has without leaving me? coz we still talk normal she just doesn't like the topic..
