Many people are scared of getting close - for many reasons.... Mostly fear of being hurt badly.

Most of us are pretty vulnerable underneath, anf even the most resilient can be hurt given the time, and level of hurt.

We are complicated.

We expect particular things from a relationship.

Many mix their ego in with their feelings.

Relationships can become a battle ground of competition, imbalance of sacrifice and commitment.

Just viewing the conversations here shows there is the expectation of support, competition of ego, past hurts affecting future commitment.

Thing is - every relationship has differnt dynamics. What works for one couple, may not work for another.

COMMUNICATION IS KEY!

And - theres a difference between love and lust. Love doesn't need sex. (Bit it makes it amazing 😜)

And love isnt 'expecting' something from another.

People still have a lot of change to go through in their twenties, not saying love isny there -it's just not matured yet - still very raw. Very new - very. Vulnerable.

@OogieBoogie what if I tell u the girl is my best friend and she is turning 17 this month.
@flamewolf454 so?... Just because she's 17 and Ur BF doesn't make her immune to fear.

@OogieBoogie no I mean does being 17 make it more a reasonable thing to be afraid of love and getting close? since it's still puberty time
@flamewolf454 Nope.
Fear equals everybody out no matter what the age.

It's the source of the fear that is the issue.

She has a whole future to think about, consequences of now will matter.

For others in their 50's it may be they fear their past hurt and can't forget.

Like I said - people fear for differnt reasons. 🤷‍♀️

@OogieBoogie ye I guess.. thanks for the time
@flamewolf454 thankyou for listening.
Life, and people don't always do wjat you expect - even if you've been best friends for 15 - 20 years or more.
Life is change,
Life is challenge,
Life is chaos....

... All you can do is try.

But word of Advice:
... Be careful when it comes to love, and your heart.
Make sure you always leave enough love in your heart, for loving you, - dont ever give it all to someone else.
Just as, make sure the person who loves you, also loves themselves. If they depend on you for all of it... It can, over time become a heavy responsibility.

Both can be there to support each other - but both should also be able to be strong and stand on their own.
This makes you enjoy your love for each other, not depend on it - and it makes you both powerful.

I wish you clarity.
