Is once a cheater always a cheater?

I feel that for many the behavior, the craving can become second nature. But like any universally applied aphorism, there are generally more that do not fit the bill than do, however we never hear about them!

Also I feel that for most, absent the circumstances that led them astray, there ceases to be an inspiration.
