How do you build the confidence to kiss again?

My friend goes out with my ex and apparently he told her that I'm a bad kisser. My friend told me this in front of my boyfriend and later on when we were alone my boyfriend told me that I'm not a bad kisser. It was nice of him but im still pretty embarrased and self concious about it. When my boyfriend tried making out I would cut it short because I felt weird.
