Is it normal for good friends to pick on you in front of people?

I had a birthday gathering this past Friday with my friends and one of my best friends was total different in like her mannerisms. When she arrived she was very loud so I asked if her she was okay and she just said she was happy it was my birthday. Than in front of my other friends she started saying things like in a sense I felt belittling me but I did not say anything I just kept quiet. She is usually more reserved and quiet when its just her and I but than when I bring her around my other friends especially my guy friends she tends to do the same mannerism. I am confused as to whether I am being to sensitive and in my head but also on the other hand I feel like she secretly has something against me but does not say it otherwise when shes "joking" with me in front of other. Is this normal, do your friends do this to you?
