Since when did marriage become a necessity?

I really don't like Asian culture and its constant enforcement of marriage.

Since, like, since the beginning of civilization? And somehow I think some billion plus "Asians" will somehow get over you disliking their culture, supposing ALL Asians have ONE "culture" which the do not.
JBird · F
@Abrienda almost every Asian culture have similar interests like it's sexist nature, forceful matrimony and spicy foods. Believe me, I am part Indian and Vietnamese. I find both culture strikingly similar and I don't like both of them.
Abrienda · 26-30, F
@JBird Really? So you are "part" Indian and Vietnamese...so what does that do for your argument? Obviously you never heard of the argument from authority fallacy.

So... as an ASIAN myself, I assure you that you are wrong. I think you need to travel more and generalize less.
JBird · F
@Abrienda I did travel and I know more than you even if you are ASIAN. If you remember read correctly, I didn't say every Asian culture are same, I said similar. It's immature of you to get offended and call it a 'fallacy'.

@JBird I was born in the Phil so don't have an ignorant and racist "tourist" view of over A BILLION PEOPLE!

And UNLIKE YOU, dummy, MY profile is VERIFIED. So if there is any doubt who is Asian and who is not, it is YOU, sweetie!

@JBird I think it depends on the regions of each Asian country. Some regions are more traditional than others. I would say that more modern Vietnamese nowadays don’t see marriage as a necessity anymore. I’m a Vietnamese myself. Forced marriage is an old concept and used to be more popular throughout the country decades ago.

Indian culture is not the same as Vietnamese culture lol. They may share a few similarities, but they’re still very different from each other. Let’s start with marriage. It’s still common in India to force teenage girls to get married with guys they don’t even know. That doesn’t happen in most of Vietnam.

In the grand scheme of things, forced marriage can be seen in many parts of the world, not just in Asia. I wouldn’t attribute it to Asian cultures if I were you. And I have to agree with Abrienda. It’s not very smart to say “Asian culture” since Asia is rich in cultures.

@SW-User Thank you. Nor is the fact she cannot get anyone to marry her a reason for her to insult an entire CONTINENT and several island chains just to make herself feel better about it!☺️

@Abrienda Once again, you are so right and to the point. You and Alex1610, each were born and raised in your Asian countries and have first hand knowledge of the different and unique cultures. I have the honor of knowing you both! If anybody here on this thread knows what the situation is over there, It is you two. You have posted up some excellent replies here as usual and your command of the subject matter, is spot on! All those billion plus people would be so proud!☺️
