Do you give gifts on first dates (flowers, something the other person likes, exetra) or does that stuff wait for a different time? If so do you have any ideas that aren't over used (flowers)
I recently went on a date with a woman who mentioned she like Reese Peanut butter cups so I bought her a bag of Reese minis and gave them to her when we met.
I'm sure this is going to sound totally unappreciative but if you're going to give a gift, make sure it's small token of appreciation, like "put it in your purse" small. It's a P.I.A. to carry around something like a bouquet of flowers for the whole date.
Try something like two fancy chocolates in a box. Y'know like they do at Godiva and the nicer chocolate shops. Or gourmet cookies and always give 2. One for her and one for sharing ;)
No gifts on first dates. Maybe a special gift to mark a six month anniversary of dating or just because that person means alot to you. Gifts are fine once in a while, but the gift most treasured is time and attention given to each other. A gift could be a ticket to a show, a treat to the movies, some time together having a massage, or an gifted arrangement of fancy fruits and nuts.
I wouldn't. I don't know enough about somebody on a first date. I wouldn't want anyone to bring me something either, I would feel a little awkward knowing that they spent money to impress me before we even spent any real time together... But that's just me.
