Some will certainly do, and why not? It's not a crime.
@helenS “Young girls” is indeed a crime.
Young women, perhaps not. Don’t encourage pedophiles.

@bijouxbroussard We should not always think the worst of others. "Young girl" does not refer to a child usually, in this context I think.
@helenS Literally a girl is a child. A young girl is a young child. The fact that people like to infantilise women doesn’t make things better.

"Is there anybody going to listen to my story
All about the girl who came to stay?
She's the kind of girl
You want so much, it makes you sorry
Still you don't regret a single day
Ah, girl, girl

Is that pedo, in your opinion? Are the Beatles singing about a child here?
@helenS Did they write that song when they were in their 60s ? You’re being an apologist for something very vile here.

@bijouxbroussard But the world girl is used for young women anyway no matter their age. I refer to my adult daughters as my girls all the time.

@bijouxbroussard It has not been my intention to be apologetic. I just interpreted things differently. To me it was about age gaps between people old enough to know what they do. I am sorry we do not agree on this, but I'm sure there are many other things where we do. 🌷
@carolinehugz I know. Sometimes it’s condescending and disrespectful. When someone calls a grown man “boy”, no one is confused about it being a put-down.
@carolinehugz With respect, as their mother you have that right.
