Would you date someone with learning difficulties.

I have a friend who I have known for many years, he has learning difficulties, slow leaner, dimwitted, some say retarded, but he is indeed a very good, genuine, honest kind sincere soul, meek, gentle and mild mannered. He has his own place so he has some independence but has to have some support from local authorities and his mother who only lives just five minutes away from him handles his money and 'DLA'. He's 52 and has had at least three relationships with women but it's been years now since he's had a girlfriend and he can get lonely sometimes but he does have a voluntary job. He goes on dating sites but they only end up unsuccessful which is sometimes frustrating for him. I wonders if he will be on his own for the rest of his life. I think he needs someone who has the same learning difficulties has he does, he also knows his limitations. Anyone out there for him ?
This is so sad.
My son has mod/severe autism, and sometimes it makes me cry that he's a teenager and never had a friend.
Probably will never have girl friend.
Life is so hard for them.
Ot just seems.so unfair 😔

@BoobooSnafu I know, I agree, it is hard for them, and they seem to be to most decent, kind sincere people, where as the people who consider themselves normal are the most cruel, fake people you could meet, mean, selfish and manipulative, some have even mocked others who have learning problems, thinking they are better than them. It's so wrong. My friend was bullied at school and he is scarred by that, those who bully does not realize that the victim is affected for life, no confidence and self esteem. God bless your son, always, I'm quite sure he will find someone.
People tend to only want to be around those with equal intelligence. I don’t know if I can handle someone who is a slow learner, since I have always picked up on subjects very easily. I just can’t relate.

@TerryCutter Very well said Terry, unfortunately the women I know don't see past his learning difficulties and they have used and abused him and took advantage of him and don't see his good heart, must this must stop, there must be someone out there for my friend Nicholas. Today's world is cruel and full of self centered ignorance.
