Friendship after a break up ?

What does it mean when he says he wants to be friends after a break up ? He says he likes me a lot still and is not 100% sure he doesn't love me. But it feels like it is over and he didn't change his mind about breaking up.

@cagedinside: I am in that position, I hated her because of her coldness, selfishness but I never met anyone like her. if I try to become friends with her. I will end up wanting her close to me again

It happened to me too, i tried being his friend but i wanted more. I kept confusing things and i ended up hurting myself more.
