How long does it take you to get over a past relationship?

The last real relationship I had was when I was 17 years old. We were engaged. That one hurt pretty good.

I would say that one took me 5 years to recover from. But I also wasn't dating, and I think that made the pain immeasurably worse.

It's kinda unfortunate to think this way, but I think "replacing" the other person is pretty fucking important for healing. Even just a temporary relationship, if it was a serious one.

Only other people can heal what another person damaged. At least, that has been my experience. It takes fucking forever to heal, otherwise.

Sometimes you never really do you just have to except it and move on with your life.

I was over it before it ended 🤷🏻‍♂️

I never get over it, time keeps marching forward and the pain is deadened while I find other ways to think about things that happened in the relationship, harness my self-awareness, and remind myself "It's for the best."

It depends..i was so done with my last relationship, that it didn't take that long to get over it.

But If i lost a relationship i treasured ...i imagine that it'd hit me hard. Probably a year..or two? I'm not sure. But around there

Just going through a divorce now. It’s tough. They say, The best way to get over someone is to get under someone. I have to try that approach!!

Didn’t take me long to get over my last one, apart from the emotional scars she left me with.
If I lose the one I’m currently in I think it would break me though.

My first major relationship? Gosh it was almost 6 years😖

Some I can get over right away, like a month or two. There were at least 2 that took many years to recover from.
