I see a lot of people unhappy with relationships they’re in or unhappy they aren’t in a relationship - I don’t think I’ve seen anyone not in a relationship and happy with their life!!

Mmmmm. I've been single for a long time. Like, I've had flings and some casual dating but no real "relationship" for like 10 years. I grew used to it, and it's still pretty comfortable, but maybe I guess because I'm getting old discontent is building. So. I was single and happy. Now I'm single and discontent.
I always believed that marriage was a fool's errand, especially with a 60% divorce rate. But a Harvard psychologist made me think twice, too. Apparently married people are happier than single people. Who would have known? I guess it makes sense, because even if you don't even like each other much, and even if you have a lot of problems, at least you're in it with someone.
I like you’re reasoning - you sound a pretty rational, sensible sort of person, I’m pretty sure you could find someone to have a meaningful relationship with if you got out and about and took a few risks 😊@Tatsumi
