Has anyone gone through a long-distance relationship that worked out in the end?

I mean relationships that have been long-distance for a few years but that you've managed to be together, get married or at least have a life together eventually, in the end.

I'm cutting a very romantic and in depth story down to a couple of paragraphs :)

Met in Japan, got to know each other as friends, we moved back to England and Canada respectively, dated online for around six months then I visited for two weeks. Everything went well so I planned to go and live over there, but then her course didn't go as expected and she was living in a shitty basement, so we decided she would move here instead.

She did around three months later, and now we're married and soon we will have a child and she will have permanent residency!

I had an overseas relationship for several years, and then we got married. That's when I moved here to the U.S. where my husband is from.
While we were dating we had very long and expensive telephone bills, and also spent a lot of money on airline tickets every few months.

Oh God I remember those phone bills
I am working towards that end. My girlfriend is currently still far away but she will hopefully be with me in a months time.

Well. I met my wife on the internet in 1997 and we are still currently together. And I do mean currently. Lol
