The games don’t only physically take you way from girls but they artificially satisfy the need for achievement that exists in all of us. So instead of achieving things in life that would get the attention of women, you feel satisfied by beating a level or earning some virtual accolades. Go outside more.

jeez I've been playing video games since the 80s

Some girls and women like playing videogames and the whole culture surrounding them. Personally I find creative pursuits more interesting. Still do the occasional videogame binge now and then, but videogames don't hold too much importance for me. Find a lady who likes to game.

Guys aren’t the only ones who play them. It’s like any interest—more a problem if it’s all-consuming and she doesn’t share the interest. (See “sports widows”.) My niece is a bigger gamer than many guys she knows.
