If you know a relationship is probably not going to last but you still enjoy every second of it, should you continue having that relationship?

Yes. Nothing enjoyable lasts forever anyway.

@SW-User Then work hard to hold onto it, giving up is the cowards way out.

@NativeOregonian Hold onto what? A relationship? What I told the person asking the question, I meant to enjoy it for as long as it lasts. Even death ends things. It has nothing to do with whether or not someone thinks they aren't a coward. It's just life. Eventually, things end.

@NativeOregonian And then I read your comments on other posts, and some of your own story. 🤗 Love is a choice. I agree it takes work and strength. But no matter how hard a person or a couple works at it and nourishes it, one eventually leaves the other. It matters to cherish the enjoyable moments; especially because they'll eventually end.

@SW-User Thank you for the hug 🤗 Yes, love is a choice, a very strong snd important one. I asked my Grandfather once how he managed to stay with my grandmother for so long after all the shit she put him through, all he told me was how he felt the first time he met her, that all he could think of was wanting to marry her. My grandmother is trash, she put my Grandfather through things that would have justified him leaving her multitudes of times, but he still loved her despite it all. My Grandfather died of pancreatic cancer in 1992 when I was 22, he was 66, I took his death much harder than I did than my Dad's, who died when I was ten, two months short of my 11th birthday in 1981, I was his favorite child.

@NativeOregonian Sorry for your losses.
Your grandfather's situation is like my mom's. It makes me sad because he's awful, but she sounds so happy when she talks about how she and my dad met. She really fell in love with him. Agreeing or disagreeing with her situation, no one can take that from them.
