How long did it take you to get over your first breakup?

It wasn't a breakup rather it was a heartbreak. My crush lied to me that he liked me in order to have sex with me. But when he was caught by my father he said he only saw me as a 'sister'. It took me two years to realise he was an asshole who doesn't deserve my love. Now I don't feel anything about it.

I'm wondering if anyone really gets over that first person that you've opened up your heart to. 😢

One year roughly.

I met a much hotter girl after that

I didn't like him that much and he pissed me off (the reason we broke up) so... 🤷‍♀️ it's all individual

About 3 years. That's generally before you learn not to just be totally vulnerable with someone off the bat.

It's been a year and a half, and it still bothers me from time to time.
