Why are most unattractive men mean to average girls and looks for girls out of their league in terms of attractiveness?

@JP1119 I will give you an example. There used to be a guy in my previous company. He's really ugly but he's a talker and bossy. And there's another hot girl and I was her mentor. Whenever I or any other person ask for help, he refuses. If it's her, he wouldn't have any problem. During reviews too, he critize people unnecessarily but he always have a soft corner for the girl even she didn't do anything. I overheard him suggesting her for a lead position even though she had no knowledge of what we are supposed to do. He did the same to other 'hot' girls in the office. I have seen similar cases in my college too. Even here, there was an ugly Indian guy who told me I can't have a decent guy because I am average
